“After caring for family members going through recent health issues out of state, it has become clear that I need to quickly transition to the next chapter of my life,” Goss said. “I’ve learned from experience the importance of being present for loved ones during their time of greatest need.”-

Goss has served Providence for nearly 30 years, leading the organization through change and disruption, including COVID-19 and the post-pandemic challenges in health care. She is the first woman and registered nurse to lead Providence Alaska since its foundresses, the Sisters of Providence.-

After joining Providence in 1997 as a nurse in Providence Alaska Medical Center’s Emergency Department, Goss served in a variety of leadership roles. This included chief flight nurse for LifeGuard air ambulance service; clinical manager of Emergency Services; director of Medical Staff, Risk Management and Regulatory Services; and director of the Providence Cancer Center. She was named chief executive of PAMC in 2018 and region chief executive in 2022.-

Goss is committed to community service and has volunteered with several boards and councils, including the University of Alaska Foundation and the American Heart Association Western States Region.--

-

“I will leave my role with gratitude for the opportunity to lead through significant change, work alongside amazing caregivers, and develop wonderful relationships,” Goss said. “I am also incredibly proud of the heroic work we did to serve Alaskans during the pandemic and our continued focus on delivering the highest quality care every day.”-

Providence Alaska is launching an immediate search for a new chief executive, including listening sessions with key stakeholders to inform the selection.--
