Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Orange Breaks Ground on New ‘Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center’
Sprawling New Multi-Million Dollar Facility in Orange County Will Offer a One-Stop Location to Access Full-Suite of Women’s Health, Mother-Baby Services and More
ORANGE, Calif. (September 22, 2021) — Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Orange broke ground recently on the 'Helen Caloggero Women's and Family Center,' a four-story, 137,000-square-foot facility that will provide improved access to vital health services, benefits and resources for Orange County residents. It is currently slated to open in spring 2024.
The groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday featured the Most Reverend Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Orange, City of Orange Mayor Mark Murphy, and other key officials with shovels in hand, donning hard hats and vests.
The new center will be located on the Providence St. Joseph Hospital campus at 363 S. Main Street in Orange, and provide a new hub to access a wide array of women’s health services, including women’s mental health services, mother-baby assessment, pelvic health and rehab, a cutting edge, natural birthing center where women can receive the individualized care that midwives provide in a home-like setting, a full-service pharmacy, and even a Blue Bowl Superfoods restaurant, among other offerings.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this wide array of services in a beautiful, new and convenient location for our patients, as it will truly ease their way in accessing our top-of-the-line caregivers and the latest innovative technology in one single location,” said Michelle Genova, RN, chief nursing officer at Providence St. Joseph Hospital.
The new building is being named after the memory of generous donor Marsha Moeller’s mother, who made a substantial donation in keeping with her mother’s giving spirit, which Ms. Moeller says is her greatest inspiration.
“While we are still raising funds to complete the project, we’re exceedingly appreciative to our generous donors who have given us the push to get to where we are today and are confident that the generosity of our community will enable us to meet our timeline for opening,” said Jeremy Zoch, chief executive of Providence St. Joseph Hospital.
The St. Joseph Hospital Foundation plays an integral role in the development of the facility, with a $2.3 million fundraising goal. To learn how to support the future of the Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center, visit sjofoundation.org or call 714-347-7900.
