Providence St. Joseph Hospital recognized for excellence in environmental stewardship

Providence St. Joseph Hospital was recognized by Practice Greenhealth with the Partner for Change award for our work in environmental stewardship. This prestigious award acknowledges the hospital’s commitment to environmental excellence.

Practice Greenhealth is a leading nationwide organization for sustainable health care. Its awards program recognizes hospitals and health systems that have gone above and beyond in areas of sustainability and energy reduction. 

Winners of this award have made substantive progress on mercury elimination. Providence is committed to becoming carbon negative by 2030. Providence St. Joseph Hospital is committed to reducing our environmental footprint by focusing on Waste, Energy/Water, Agriculture/Food, Chemicals and Transportation known as (WE ACT). This includes tracking and monitoring waste, converting to LED lighting to reduce energy usage, joining the Cool Food Pledge to reduce food-related greenhouse gas emissions related to climate change and much more.
