Providence Alaska Medical Center earns SRC’s Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery accreditation
Hospital recognized for meeting rigorous national and international standards for robotic surgery
Anchorage, Alaska — Providence Alaska Medical Center has achieved accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.
As an SRC accredited Center of Excellence, PAMC meets both nationally and internationally recognized standards for robotic surgery. Accreditation requires hospitals to meet rigorous, measurable standards across volume, outcomes, infrastructure and care delivery.
The robotic surgery program at PAMC began providing robot-assisted surgery in 2000 and recently surpassed 10,000 robotic surgeries performed.
“Earning this accreditation gives patients confidence they are receiving advanced, high-quality care from an experienced team,” said Daniel Rossi, D.O., leader of the Robotics steering committee at Providence. “It also reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence in safety, innovation and clinical quality.”
SRC is an internationally recognized, independent accreditation body that evaluates surgical quality and patient safety, accrediting hundreds of leading hospitals and surgical facilities across the United States and globally.
PAMC continues to invest in robotic technology. In 2025, the hospital added the da Vinci 5, the newest model of the robot console that allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures using several small incisions. For patients, this means shorter recovery times and fewer risks of postoperative complications.

Healthcare facilities and surgeons seeking an SRC accreditation undergo an extensive assessment and inspection process to ensure the applicant meets SRC’s proven standards and requirements. These requirements include surgical volumes, facility equipment, clinical pathways and standardized operating procedures, and an emphasis on patient education and continuous quality assessment. Inspectors also educate staff in the accredited departments on best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
