St. Jude Medical Center Maternity Unit and Labor & Delivery COVID-19 Visitor Policy

St. Jude Medical Center Visitor Policy For the Maternity Unit and Labor & Delivery

EFFECTIVE Jan. 10, 2022
We encourage everyone to get vaccinated for their health and well-being, especially around your newborn.

To comply with the state mandate, we have made changes to our visitation policy. We understand that this is a special time for you and your family, and we will do everything possible to accommodate your preferences and needs.

Fetal Diagnostic: Visitor or support person must comply with the state mandate by either providing a vaccination card or negative COVID test.

MATERNITY UNIT AND LABOR & DELIVERY

Unscheduled Deliveries: The father or main support person is not required to provide a COVID vaccine card or negative COVID test upon arrival. If the patient is admitted and discharged within 48 hours, and the person never leaves the hospital, the person does not have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test. However, if the person leaves the hospital, he/she must provide proof of COVID vaccination or a negative COVID test with 48 hours to return.

Scheduled Inductions or Cesarean Deliveries: The father or support person is required to show proof of COVID vaccination or produce a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the scheduled procedure. All scheduled procedures are not considered an “emergency” per the state mandate.

Visitation: At this time, only one consistent visitor will be allowed. The visitor will be given a purple band and must comply with the state mandate by either providing a vaccination card or negative COVID test within 48 hours of the visit.

NICU: Please call (714) 626-8522 for the NICU visitor policy.

Antepartum Patients: Visitation will be determined on a case by case basis and focus on the personal needs of the family.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
