Local school district fundraiser supports Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital

Chains of Caring ceremony highlights shared focus on health, wellness of Alaska’s children

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – An annual Chains of Caring linking ceremony is scheduled for 12:30-1 p.m. Monday, May 1, in the Providence Health Park.

Denali Kemppel, board chair of Providence Alaska Foundation; Esther Pitts, executive director of Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital; and Dr. Jharrett Bryantt, Anchorage School District superintendent, will speak at the event.

Chains of Caring is a fundraising effort by children throughout the Anchorage School District. It raises money for Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital by selling paper chain links for 25 cents each for students to write encouraging words on their chain link. The chains will be displayed in the pediatric unit after the event.
