From Rod Hochman, M.D.: Providence contributes $2.1 billion in community benefit
I’m honored to share our 2022 annual report. As you read these stories, you’ll meet some of the inspiring individuals we had the privilege to serve last year, as well as some of the caregivers and community partners who helped us bring our Mission to more people in need.
Even in these challenging times, our commitment to our communities has never been stronger. In 2022, we provided nearly $2.1 billion in uncompensated care and other community services. This is our largest investment in community benefit to date and represents an increase of $600 million since the pandemic began.
In every region we serve across seven states, our teams found new and more equitable ways to bring needed care and services to our patients and our broader communities. Thanks to your remarkable work, we’re able to highlight a few of the many ways we are working to reduce disparities in health care.
Together, we continued to meet the diverse needs of the people we serve, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. I’m grateful to you and our local partners for continuing to make a lasting, meaningful difference and helping us realize our vision of health for a better world.
I hope these stories inspire you as much as they inspire me.
