How “medical twins” are shaping the future of cancer treatment

June is Cancer Survivor Month and every day, Providence Cancer Institute researchers are finding new treatments that help patients live longer and better.

One exciting approach brings together genetics and artificial intelligence to help find a patient’s “medial twin.” This allows the successful treatment of one patient to inform the treatment of another.

Providence Cancer Institute researcher and Providence Genomics program director Brian Piening, PhD, recently shared information about the effort on KATU’s morning talk show, AM Northwest.
