As Providence Cancer Institute raised nearly $900,000 at this year’s Creating Hope event in May, it also marked 25 years of raising money that funds research that leads to new discoveries and treatments for patients with cancer.
Since Creating Hope began in 1998, the annual event has raised $12.6 million for cancer research at Providence. These funds have directly fueled the work of Providence Cancer Institute scientists and physicians.
Thanks to Providence research teams and the donors who support this work, many more people are surviving cancer and getting extra time to spend with their families. The majority of the institute’s research -- about 70% -- is supported by philanthropy.
Here are two informative, inspiring videos produced for Creating Hope:
Cheers to 25 Years recounts the breakthroughs, innovative treatments, groundbreaking clinical trials and more achieved at Providence Cancer Institute.
Within Reach: The Fight to Finish Cancer is a sneak peek at a documentary due this summer following patients taking part in a groundbreaking clinical trial at Providence Cancer Institute.
