Gift of art elevates healing spaces at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center
A stunning art piece by artist and donor Donna Jordan now graces the Labor and Delivery unit in the Women’s Pavilion at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Donated through a meaningful partnership with the Providence Tarzana Foundation, the piece brings a sense of beauty, warmth and quiet inspiration to all who pass through its halls — offering a heartfelt tribute to the caregivers, families and new beginnings that define the space.
The piece was unveiled at a special ceremony honoring Donna’s artistic contribution. More than just a visual masterpiece; the piece is a testament to how creativity and compassion can shape spaces of healing, hope and renewal.
Joined by her family at the ceremony, Mrs. Jordan shared the deeper meaning behind her work: “This piece explores my evolving understanding of the beautiful miracle of life — a reflection of the physical, emotional and spiritual shifts I experienced stepping into adulthood,” she said. “It captures motion as both gesture and metaphor — for growth, continuity and becoming.”
This meaningful installation finds its home in a space that welcomes life each and every day. Since 2020, more than 8,000 babies have been born at our medical center—an average of 400 little miracles each month — all cared for in our Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units. Jordan’s piece now stands as a symbol of that continuous cycle of life, love and community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Donna Jordan for her generous gift, and to our community, whose ongoing support continues to inspire generosity and compassion. Together, we are creating spaces that uplift, comfort and care — for this generation and the next.
