Providence Holy Cross Medical Center earns national recognition for excellence in stroke care

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center has received the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus award for its commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based stroke and Type 2 diabetes care.

“This recognition is a testament to the expertise and compassion our caregivers and physicians bring every day,” said Bernie Klein, M.D., chief executive of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. “Their commitment to following evidence-based guidelines helps ensure our patients receive the highest level of stroke care when they need it most.”

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the U.S., making early recognition and timely treatment critical.

In addition to the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award, Providence Holy Cross received the following American Heart Association awards:

  • Target: StrokeSM-Honor Roll Elite Plus award for meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy.

  • Target: StrokeSM Advanced Therapy award by meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment to remove the clot causing the stroke.

  • Target: Type 2 DiabetesTM Honor Roll award, which aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.

The Get With The Guidelines program helps ensure patients receive care aligned with the most current evidence-based recommendations, ultimately improving outcomes and quality of care.

As a Comprehensive Stroke Center certified by DNV-GL, Providence Holy Cross provides the highest level of care for complex stroke patients and supports them throughout their journey from diagnosis through recovery.
