Providence opens new Laboratory Patient Service Center in Eagle River

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Providence is expanding access to convenient lab services with the opening of our new Eagle River Patient Service Center (PSC) at 12001 Business Blvd. The new location opens Monday, May 11.

The new PSC is in the same suite as Providence Primary Care – Eagle River, making it easy for patients to complete lab work before or after their appointments.

This location brings the total number of PSCs to four across Anchorage and Eagle River. Walk-ins are welcome at all lab locations — no appointment necessary.

Services

Patients now have access to:

  • Blood draws (including consumer self-ordered and test kit testing; no referral needed)
  • Urine, stool, and swab collections for provider-ordered tests
  • Consumer convenience testing for nine commonly ordered tests (e.g., comprehensive metabolic panel, cholesterol, blood count)
  • Unlimited follow-up testing for consumer self-ordered tests
  • Support for at-home and specialty test kits, including collection help and shipping coordination (per kit instructions)

All specimens collected at PSC locations are sent to Providence Alaska Medical Center, Alaska’s most comprehensive on-site testing laboratory. Keeping testing local improves turnaround times — more than 95% of routine blood draws are completed within 48 hours.

Clinics can refer patients to any PSC location and take advantage of coordinated courier services, including supplies and regularly scheduled or on-call specimen pickups.
