Providence Redwood Memorial Foundation raised more than $44,643 to support local health care during its 14th Annual Golf Scramble, held Friday, Oct. 3, at Redwood Empire Golf and Country Club. All proceeds from the event will establish the Dr. John Montgomery Advanced Technology Fund, a tribute to the late Dr. Montgomery, and his legacy of bringing advanced medical technology to the hospital.

Twenty-three teams of four teed off at 9 a.m. for a shotgun start, rallying in support of Redwood Memorial Hospital and the Eel River Valley community.

“This new fund in honor of Dr. Montgomery is a transformative step for health care in Humboldt County,” said Tracye Williams, chief philanthropy officer. “This fund will ensure access to cutting-edge medical technologies that directly improve patient outcomes, enhance care delivery and empower our care teams to meet the evolving needs of our community. Thank you to all our supporters for your ongoing commitment to advancing local health care.”

The fund will provide flexible support for future investments in innovative technologies, helping enhance patient care, improve efficiency and equip providers with the tools they need to deliver exceptional service.
