We are proud to share that the environmental services (EVS) team at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, provided by Crothall Healthcare, has been recognized in the Business Intelligence Group’s (BIG) 2026 Sustainability Awards, earning the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award. The honor recognizes the team’s leadership in advancing environmental stewardship across hospital operations.

By integrating sustainable practices into daily workflows, the team has implemented innovative waste diversion programs, adopted more environmentally responsible products, increased caregiver engagement and maintained high compliance standards. These efforts have generated measurable environmental benefits while creating a model that can be replicated across the healthcare industry.

The award-winning initiative centered on practical, high-impact solutions that delivered measurable results. Key efforts included transitioning to battery-free hand sanitizer dispensers, expanding recycling and medical device recovery programs, increasing the use of green-certified cleaning products and strengthening associate education and training to encourage the adoption of sustainable practices.
