Providence Saint John’s Earns Top Honors in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Hospitals Rankings

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (July 30, 2025) ― U.S. News & World Report has named Providence Saint John’s Health Center one of the Best Regional Hospitals for 2025, recognizing its excellence in patient care and specialty services. The Santa Monica hospital ranked among the top 10 in Los Angeles and Orange counties and among the top 23 in California.

This year, U.S. News ranked Providence Saint John’s orthopedics program among the top 45 in the nation. Both orthopedics and urology earned “high performing” status in adult specialties, placing them in the top 10 percent nationwide. The hospital also received high performance ratings in 14 common procedures and conditions, including back surgery, colon cancer surgery, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, heart failure, hip fracture, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma, lung cancer, pneumonia, prostate cancer and stroke.

The annual evaluation by U.S. News measures excellence in patient care across a variety of common-procedures and conditions, as well as in high-acuity care. Rankings and ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

To calculate the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.-
