Providence Saint John's sustainability efforts include practical, high-impact initiatives, such as transitioning to battery-free hand sanitizer dispensers, expanding recycling and medical device recovery programs, increasing the use of green-certified cleaning products and empowering caregivers to adopt environmentally conscious practices.
Developed by Newsweek and Statista, the World's Greenest Hospitals 2026 list recognizes hospitals advancing environmental sustainability through measurable action and long-term commitments. Organizations were assessed using six data pillars, including sustainability performance, expert recommendations, certifications, sustainability commitments and reporting transparency.
