Providence South Bay Hospitals Recognized for Excellence by U.S. News & World Report

Providence Little Company of Mary recognized as a Best Regional Hospital in Torrance and for nationally ranked rehabilitation care in San Pedro.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (July 30, 2025) U.S. News & World Report announced its prestigious Best Hospitals ratings this-week and recognized Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro for excellence in patient care, clinical outcomes and specialty services.

Each hospital achieved the following rankings: 

  • Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance- Named one of the -top 17 hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and among the-top 35 in California. In addition to state and metro rankings, Torrance was rated “high performing” in both neurology/neurosurgery and orthopedics, placing in the top 10 percent nationwide. The hospital also received high performance ratings in 11 common procedures and conditions, including colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, heart failure, hip fracture, kidney failure, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma, pacemaker, stroke. 

  • Providence Little Company of Mary San Pedro Earned a national ranking for rehabilitation, placing in the top 48 in the country, ― a remarkable achievement that highlights strength in recovery services and comprehensive patient care. San Pedro’s national ranking for rehabilitation truly makes San Pedro the health care destination when it comes to providing top-notch recovery services and comprehensive patient care.

The annual evaluation by U.S. News measures excellence in patient care across a variety of common-procedures and conditions, as well as in high-acuity care. Rankings and ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.- 

To calculate the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.-
