Changes to UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans in Washington

Effective Jan. 1, 2027, Providence will no longer be contracted with some UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, including: 

·         UnitedHealthcare MA PPO

·         UnitedHealthcare MA HMO

·         UnitedHealthcare MA Group Retiree

 

UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage D-SNP members are not affected by this change. Any patient enrolled in traditional Medicare, including those with or without a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan and/or a Part D prescription drug plan, will also continue to be accepted across all Providence Clinic locations.

How can I stay with Providence/Kadlec?

Impacted UHC Medicare Advantage members who want to continue to access Providence after Dec. 31, 2026, will need to change plans to one of our other contracted Medicare carriers during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period.

 

While this news may feel unsettling, Providence is here to support you. We can connect you with resources that will help you explore your Medicare options so that you can keep contracted access to Providence and Kadlec’s primary care teams, specialists and hospitals.

 

Key points to know:

• Providence and Kadlec clinics will continue to accept UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage PPO, HMO and Group Retiree plans in Washington through Dec. 31, 2026.

• Review your health plan options during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2026).

·         Contact your health insurance advisor to review your health plan options during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2026).  

·         If you are not currently working with a Medicare advisor, please contact American Senior Resources* by calling 877-315-3279 or visiting asrconnect.com.

·         If you are receiving active treatment for a chronic condition, you may qualify for extended access, also known as “Continuity of Care,” through UnitedHealthcare. If you think you qualify, please call the number on the back of your insurance card. 

Providence clinics include medical groups and hospitals in Spokane and Stevens County, as well as Kadlec and Providence clinics in Tri-Cities and Walla Walla, WA.
