Surgical Services leadership update
Interim leadership structure announced
SOUTH PUGET SOUND – As of late December 2025, the surgical services teams at both Centralia and St. Peter hospitals have transitioned to a new interim leadership structure. This change follows the departure of Elle Mortenson from her previous role as Director of Surgical Services.
At Centralia Hospital, Lenna Lizberg has taken on administrative oversight, supported by operational leader JR Harkness. At St. Peter Hospital, administrative oversight is now provided by Louis Stout, with operational leadership from Brandi Roorda. These leaders are committed to ensuring stability and continuity in surgical services, providing support to both caregivers and physicians throughout this period of transition.
The search for a permanent Director of Surgical Services is actively underway, with recruitment efforts taking place both internally and externally. The goal is to have the new director appointed by the end of April 2026. As we move forward, physicians are encouraged to continue sharing their valuable insights and feedback, upholding our shared dedication to excellence in patient care and clinical collaboration across both hospitals.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Doug Upson, South Puget Sound Chief Administrative Officer.
