Providence Holy Family Hospital Intensive Care Unit earns prestigious award

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) recently awarded Providence Holy Family Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) a Silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence. This is the hospital’s second time  earning the national designation.

The Beacon Award for Excellence is a significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and healthy work environments. It recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation meet national criteria consistent with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.

“This award recognizes the Providence Holy Family Hospital Intensive Care Unit team for their relentless commitment to high-quality, compassionate care,” said Adam Richards, Providence Holy Family Hospital chief nursing officer. “We are grateful for the chance to further recognize this team of caregivers who overcame immeasurable challenges during the pandemic to serve our community.”
